Samsung smartphone manufacturer cooperation with Telkomsel mobile operator. This collaboration aims to increase the penetration of 3G networks and invites users basic phone features and mobile phone to switch to Android.
Samsung will make a bundle selling the Galaxy smartphones with Telkomsel SIM card. There are about 20 products are bundled with Telkomsel Galaxy, ranging from lower middle class to the top.
In addition, Telkomsel also provides an upgrade program for customers who are still using feature phones and basic phones. On this occasion, Telkomsel released Galaxy Plan program consisting of packet Chat & Share (CNS) and package Full Galaxy Plan.
CNS devoted to social media services (Facebook and Twitter) and instant messaging services such as WhatsApp, KakaoTalk, Line, and Chaton.
While the Galaxy Plan Full package, providing a full internet service, ranging from e-mail, streaming, social media, and instant messaging. Both of these packages are available exclusively for Samsung devices.
Samsung is optimistic there is great potential in the growth of Android smart phone users in Indonesia. Until the third quarter of 2012, according to Samsung, the Android smart phone growth reached 40%. Party Samsung claims 80% market share of Android phones in Indonesia is controlled by Samsung.
Meanwhile, according to IDC, Android reach 52% market share of the operating system in Indonesia in the second quarter of 2012. Since, there are more than 10 manufacturers who carry the Android operating system, including Samsung, Sony, and HTC.
