RIM (Research In Motion) Offer Android Applications for Playbook

Research In Motion offers an Android application for use on BlackBerry AppWorld. It is delivered by the Vice President of Developer realtions RIM Alec Saunders, through Twitter account on February 2, 2012.

Saunders invited Android application developers to put their applications to the BlackBerry AppWorld. But the installation of Android applications is only limited to the Playbook.

In his tweet, Saunderds provide a link to enter the Android applications into the BlackBerry Runtime for Android Apps. There are a number of tools for Android developers to convert their applications to the BlackBerry operating system Playbook.

Runtime BlackBerry BlackBerry Apps for Android enables developers to run Android on a tablet BlackBerry Playbook 2.3.3.

For that Android apps have to redesign the BAR file format, which is a format that is compatible for BlackBerry Playbook. Some of the APIs in the Android software development kit might not be compatible with the BlackBerry Playbook.

Android developers can verify whether the application is compatible with the BlackBerry Playbook. RIM offers its Android developers to include their applications by 13 February.
